Pre-Registration Hold
This is a hold put on your account by the Treasurer’s Office and requires that you complete a Student Financial Agreement. The Financial Agreement Activity Guide will walk you through the process.

One-Term Admit Hold
This hold is placed on your account by the International Admissions Office and typically requires that you submit original copies of your transcript, degree confirmation, or another academic record from a previous institution. Please contact IAO@uark.edu.

Registration Hold
Most often this hold is placed on your account by the Immunization Clinic at the Pat Walker Health Center. The Arkansas Department of Health requires that all student have the MMR vaccine. If you do not have documentation of this, you can receive your vaccination at the health center. The cost of the vaccination is covered by your student health insurance. You will be required to check in with the health center after you have completed your Immigration Basics session.

International Student Document Hold
Upon arrival to the University of Arkansas all international students on an F-1 or a J-1 visa are required to participate in an Immigration Basics session. You can schedule your Immigration Basics session through your Application Portal. Prior to attending the session you will be required to upload a scanned copy of your Passport, visa, I-20/DS2019, and I-94. If you are not on an F-1 or a J-1 Visa, please contact ISSworld@uark.edu.

This hold requires that you meet with your advisor. This will happen after you have cleared all other holds and at this point you will be ready to register for courses.

You will need to update this with a US telephone number. Be sure to select this as the preferred number.

Once you complete your Immigration Basics session, your name will be referred to your college’s academic advising center and you will get instructions how to contact them and when to be advised.

What is Immigration Basics?
Immigration Basics is mandatory for all international students in F or J status. You are REQUIRED to attend an Immigration Basics Session.
You will not be able to register for classes until you complete an immigration basics session. You should attend an immigration session as the first thing to do after your arrival.
- Registration for Immigration Basics is required.
- Please bring your passport, visa, I-20 or DS-2019, I-94 (if you entered the U.S. before May 2013), and your admissions letter for the session.
- If you arrive late for a session, you will not be admitted to the session.
- After each Immigration Basics, you are required to go visit the Health Center to take the TB test. Please understand this is a requirement by the Arkansas State.
On-Campus Living Information
All single, freshmen (first year undergraduate students) under the age of 21 are required to live on-campus.
If you will be a freshman student, you should begin a contract as soon as possible. You will have to sign a contract with University Housing in order to live on-campus. On-Campus Housing for students who are not freshmen is very limited and is assigned on a first come – first served basis. You can visit the University Housing website to see the on-campus housing options. Read the instruction carefully regarding the contract process.
Off-Campus Living Information
Please visit the Off-Campus Housing website to begin your search for an off-campus apartment. We ask that you review the resources available on the Off-Campus Student Services website before signing a lease. Please also see the Off-Campus Living Guide by the Off Campus Connections Office.
Transportation from the Airport
The University of Arkansas will pay for your transportation from XNA airport to Fayetteville. Please fill out the arrival form in your application portal to sign up for this service. You will need to have your arrival information available, including arrival date, time and flight number. You will also need to provide a local address in Fayetteville so that the taxi driver will know where to drop you off.
