Steps to Update Your AddressSteps to Update Your Phone Number


The Department of Homeland Security, USCIS, and other U.S. Government organizations needs to have updated information on file with your local address you are staying while attending the University of Arkansas.

We need to report your current local address and a U.S. based 10-digit phone number to SEVIS routinely. It is a Department of Homeland Security regulation that you update any change to your Immigration Address within 10 days of any move.

How to Change your Immigration Address in UAConnect

  1. STEP 1
    Visit http://uaconnect.uark.edu/
  2. STEP 2
    Log in using your UARK username and password.
  3. STEP 3
    Scroll down the page to Personal Information.
  4. STEP 4
    Click the drop down arrow and select Addresses.
  5. STEP 5
    Click on the double arrows.
  6. STEP 6
    Click “edit” next to the Address Type you want to change, i.e. mailing, billing, permanent, etc. Choose immigration.
  7. STEP 7
    Enter your current living address. This is the address where you physically live in the United States. Do NOT enter a Post Office Box (PO Box), Office or Lab address. You only have 10 days to update your IMMIGRATION ADDRESS from the date of any move.
  8. STEP 8
    Click OK to enter the new address information.
  9. STEP 9
    Make sure Immigration is checked under Address Types.
  10. STEP 10
    Click save.
  11. STEP 11
    Make sure the address change is confirmed and log out of UAConnect.

How to Change your Phone Number in UAConnect

These instructions assume you have a UAConnect Student Center available. If you do not have a UAConnect Student Center, please email your 10-digit phone number to either iss@uark.edu or sevic@uark.edu and it will be updated for you.

  1. STEP 1
    Visit http://uaconnect.uark.edu/
  2. STEP 2
    Log in using your UARK username and password.
  3. STEP 3
    Scroll down the page to "Personal Information."
    Under the "Personal Information" section, you will see a drop-down box with the "other personal..." text. Click here, select "Phone Numbers," then click the double arrow button to its right.
  4. STEP 4
    Change or enter home or mobile phone number to current phone number located here in Fayetteville (should be similar to 479-555-1234).

PLEASE NOTE:

Many responses received are about if cell phones are valid. If it is a 10-digit number that can be called within the United States: the number should be valid and good to use, even if it is out of Arkansas and with another U.S. State.

If all of these things are valid and you feel you have an updated phone number in UAConnect and that you’ve done all you can to make sure it is okay: disregard this webpage, and we will work with the Department. of Homeland Security to make sure the number becomes accepted.
